At the Cemetery on the Hill
April 2011
Rigid as marble I sit
At the cemetery on the hill
I try to pray
But I’m damned
Neglected
A throbbing pain in every part of me
A cold memory before I’m on my way down the steep slopes
To be swallowed by the night
I’ve gone beyond
I’m dead
Until Then
April 2011
I’ll meet it when it comes
But I’m not weary at all
You never know what’s going to happen to you in this life
I knew the chance I took when I began
May they not come to the place where sun and shadow mingle
I’ll not sleep a wink tonight they’re greatly mistaken
I’ve taken matters into my own hands
Barricaded against the dried blood red and the shadows on the sea
I’ll be an escaped convict an angry shadow
Until at last I rest
